The Moraga Park Foundation has a mission to enhance recreational, cultural, and education opportunities, to create a sense of community, and to improve the park facilities in Moraga.
MPF park improvement projects for 2012 include the renovation of the Moraga Commons concert venue and a new playground at Rancho Laguna Park. There are fundraising efforts to cover the cost of both projects. We are renovating the Moraga Commons band shell building. The kitchen and concession areas will be modernized.
MPF is working with the Moraga Park and Recreation Department to raise money for the band shell and new playground equipment in Rancho Laguna Park. The old playground structures needed to be replaced this year. The Moraga Park Foundation must raise over $150,000 to upgrade the band shell building and replace the playground.

Sponsors are sent information each year about the upcoming summer events. Your participation is welcome in all aspects of MPF projects. Volunteer opportunities include working at the summer concerts and other events at the Commons. Sponsorship forms are available at the Hacienda or online.

In 2011, the Foundation funded nine bands for the Summer Concert Series held at the Commons. The MPF board members grilled dinners and ran the concession stand. Each year favorite musicians return to entertain the community. A few new groups are added, to provide a variety of family entertainment during the summer. Concerts will resume next June.
